Chances are, at some point in your life you've seen or tried false eyelashes. For me, false eyelashes played a big part of my teenage years. Every Saturday night my friends and I would head down to the local Walkabout (oh the shame), wearing at least two pairs of strip lashes on each eye - plus, heels so ridiculously high they were basically stilts. Ah the joys of youth.

False eyelashes have come a long old way since then, these days they're a lot more high tech. So much so, you can now buy lashes with teeny tiny magnets built into the strips, negating any need to faff around with glue... Snazzy, huh?

Magnetic eyelashes are a little different to traditional strip lashes though, in a box you get two strips for each eye (my inner teenager is so excited). You place the first strip on top of the upper lashline, and the second one below the upper lashline - sandwiching your own lashes in between the falsies. The magnets then stick together, clamping your own lashes in between and securing the strips in place.

As with all crazy product claims, we put the magnetic lashes to the test in our Beauty Lab YouTube series. Which, if you're new to these parts, is where we review all sorts of wonderful (and not-so wonderful) beauty products on camera.

Yep, we got four Cosmopolitan Editors to try out Ardell's magnetic false lashes in Double Demi Wispies and the Accent Lash style. The results? Let's just say they were iiiinteresting.
