Ranveer Singh is currently ruling the roost in Bollywood — he not only delivered one of the biggest films of the year, Padmaavat, but also has Simbaa and Gully Boy coming up. To add to that, there are strong rumours that suggest he's going to tie the knot with long time girlfriend Deepika Padukone very soon. Talking about all of this and more, on the talk show Take 2 With Anupama And Rajeev, the actor revealed how his passion for acting came about.

"Dadi always wanted me to be an actor, she wanted dramatics, she wanted me to become some kind of performer. She used to say, 'Just watch Amitabh Bachchan, tujhe inki tarah banna hain,'” he said, adding how in awe he is of veteran artists like Bachchan. "It takes my breath away to be in the presence of senior actors you have seen growing up. Sometimes people can’t understand why I am so excitable but this is the reason. They are my idols, my heroes." We can totally understand that, and might we add, there are kids watching Ranveer right now, thinking the same thing!

He further talked about how his grandma encouraged him to perform. "I really thought these people were really cool. My dadi encouraged me to be a Hindi film hero and so that’s what I wanted to be. I was six watching Rambo and all these larger than life characters like Stallone, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan was the heartthrob that time. I was completely fascinated by Hindi film heroes and I wanted to be that and that is a desire I wanted as far as I can remember."

Now, that's the kind of support we all deserve!
