Sophie Turner’s Net Worth Is Major Thanks to ‘Game of Thrones’

Game of Thrones is almost over, which means Sunday evenings will soon return to being a terrifying wasteland of pre-Monday dread with a side dish of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Delightful! The end of Game of Thrones also means the end of the cast’s envy-inducing salaries, which—and I can’t stress this enough—are bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

Which brings us to Sophie Turner, who literally grew up on the set of Game of Thrones and made way more money from her high school job than the rest of us did babysitting. Thanks to this show (plus lucrative deals with super-fancy brands like Louis Vuitton), Sophie has a pretty impressive net worth for a 23-year-old. At least compared to my net worth at 23, which was approximately $40,000 worth of college debt.

Kay, so Game of Thrones pays most of her bills

The Game of Thrones cast is broken down into two groups: “Tier A” (aka Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and everyone else. The salary of the Tier A cast has been revealed over the years, but for reasons that remain RUDE, Sophie isn’t in this group, so we don’t know her exact salary courtesy of HBO. But to put things in perspective, let’s take a look at what the Tier A team made for the show....

Per reports from Deadline, Tier A negotiated their per-episode salaries to $300,000 right in time for seasons 5 and 6 (their salaries for seasons 1 to 4 are unknown). There were 10 episodes in each season, which means they made up to $6,000,000 in total. Then—because why stop at $300,000 (?!?!)—Tier A renegotiated with HBO and managed to each get $500,000 per episode. Season 7 had seven episodes and season 8 will have six, which means Tier A as a group made up to $6,500,000 total.

We’re guessing Sophie earned slightly less than $500K per episode because she’s not in Tier A, but she has definitely still made millions from Game of Thrones. And to be honest, she’s not upset about the pay discrepancy: “Kit got more money than me, but he had a bigger story line,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “And for the last series, he had something crazy like 70 night shoots, and I didn’t have that many. I was like, ‘You know what...you keep that money.’”

She’s also a casual movie star

Sophie’s been pretty busy shooting Game of Thrones for the past million years, but she’s also been in a few major blockbusters. By which I mean two X-Men franchise movies, X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. The film studio hasn’t released everyone’s salaries because of this thing called ~privacy~, but it would be shocking if Sophie made less than a million for these films, because hello, in case you haven’t heard, superhero movies have been making a sh*t-ton of money recently.

Her endorsement taste = expensive

Sophie is pretty classy on Instagram, meaning you won’t find her shilling for random toothpaste brands like some people (cough, literally every Kardashian). But she does dabble in endorsements when brands like Louis Vuitton come knocking:

 

 

Who knows how much Sophie makes from LVMH, but considering she’s a face of the brand (meaning she wears their clothes to events and does commercials, etc.), we should assume it’s a lot.
