The Sole Reason Why Vidya Balan Decided To Play a Brothel Owner in Begum Jaan

There are a lot of reasons why actors sign on a film—they want to work with a certain production house or want to be cast opposite a particular actor or if it's a great script... But never have we ever heard of someone picking up a role to unleash their anger.

Yup, that's what motivated Vidya Balan to play the character of a brothel owner in Begum Jaan. "I wanted to vent out my anger...I wanted to unleash that part of me and all it took was a conversation with Bhatt saab on a flight. We were promoting Hamari Adhuri Kahani, and I told him that I wanted to give an expression to my anger. I have a lot of anger," says Vidya. Even her husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur, thinks that Vidya has a violent streak. She adds, "The long and short of it is that he (Mahesh Bhatt) came to me with Begum Jaan, but to actually vent out that kind of anger and aggression wasn't easy. But it was fun, once you break the limits, it was a lot of fun."
