With his excellent portrayal of Sanjay Dutt in Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor has become the man of the moment.

Anyone who has seen the movie or even its promo can attest to the fact that Ranbir has totally nailed the role with his uncanny resemblance to the star and almost perfect impression of Sanjay's mannerisms and body language.

Especially being applauded is his portrayal of a younger, drug and alcohol addicted Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir played the role with startling realism. From the scenes where he is high on all kinds of drugs, to the time when he is in the rehab and undergoing withdrawal symptoms, Ranbir looks like he knows what he is doing, and we now know the reason why.

In a recent interview with a leading daily, Ranbir talks about dealing with addictions in his own ife, and this is what he had to say.

"I have tried drugs when I was in college and got into bad influence. But I realised that nothing will happen in life if I continue with drugs. When we did that section, I did a lot of research."

"This film is a good learning for children and youth that five-minutes of ecstasy can destroy your entire life. It’s the worst thing possible. Sanjay  was much stronger, a fighter who came out of it and became a star," added the actor.

He also admitted candidly that he hasn't done any hard drugs but is addicted to smoking. "Every man makes mistakes in his life. I am addicted to nicotine now and it’s worse than drugs. And I have addiction for sweets as well," said Ranbir.

Don't worry Ranbir, maybe Alia's presence in your life is all the 'sweet' you will be needing! We are pretty sure she is going to be a positive influence, full of good habits that will help you quit this nasty nicotine addiction once and for all.

We are rooting for you!
