Demi Lovato has been hospitalised in Los Angeles, since last night for a suspected drug overdose. Although it is unconfirmed, many believe it to be the result of the star's self-confessed lapse in sobriety over the past three or four months. A spokesperson for Demi released a statement saying, "Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy."

The former Disney star has been open and honest about her battle with substance abuse in the past, and chose to seek professional help. She was sober for a full six years, until recently. In her latest song, she confessed to have fallen off the wagon and taken to drinking and drugs again. The lyrics went, "Mommy, I'm so sorry I'm not sober anymore. And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor." It goes on, and ends with the lines, "I'm sorry that I'm here again, I promise I'll get help/It wasn't my intention, I'm sorry to myself.

The relapse was something Demi feared for a while apparently, and even cancelled part of her ongoing tour of North America, to take time off and recuperate.

Over the years, 25-year-old Demi has evolved into a badass boss lady. Her music, ever popular, has grown edgier and more mature, which the fans are going gaga over. On the personal front, her candid and brutal honesty with her fans is something that has made her an endearing public figure, inspiring many. After this particular episode, more than half the entertainment industry, including names like Ellen DeGeneres, Ariana Grande, and Brad Paisley, not to mention more than a million fans, have tweeted thoughts of love and prayers for Demi. Hopefully, she will be out of the hospital soon and seeking the help she needs to get back to being a boss lady. '
