Abhishek Bachchan Reveals Why He Took a 2-Year-Break From His Acting Career

It is after two years Abhishek Bachchan—a talented actor, and more importantly a super-entertaining personality—will finally be seen in a film called Manmarziyan, co-starring Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. With films like Guru, Dhoom, Dostana and others in his kitty, Abhishek has already proven his mettle in the industry.
But, he has been AWOL for quite some time, and even though he would be spotted posting mushy stuff of his wife and daughter on his social media (adorbs!), he hadn't worked on any film until Manmarziyan.
In conversation with PTI, the actor finally disclosed the reason why he decided to take some time off.
"I just wanted to re-evaluate where I was in life, wanted to re-energise myself. There was a definite complacency that had come into my work and I wanted to change that. It is not just about this industry, life in general, it is about out of sight, out of mind. Initially, it was a thought that I had. But I was very confident that it would not become an issue. I have worked very hard on all the films I have done. I have loved all the films that I have done."
Well, that's fair. All of us get sucked into the monotony of our work, and we feel like we're stuck in a rut. And our fave celebrities are human too.
The best part? Abhishek had the loving support of his wife and family. When Aishwarya was quizzed about his decision to take a break, she was supportive and said, "I agreed on it early last year. At that time, Abhishek had taken a small break to review his world. It was a good move because I think every professional should do that. He just wanted to sit back and decide what he wanted to do next."
Now that Junior B is back from his break and ready to enthral the audience with this new flick, we can't wait for him to start shooting for his next film Gulab Jamun, which will incidentally also star his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan!
