How to Nail the Classic 'Sultry-Eye' Look?

Think of under-shadow as the side-boob of make-up. It’s edgier than going same-old smokey (or sporting major cleavage) but still super-hot!

How to Nail the Classic 'Sultry-Eye' Look?

Follow these baby-steps to perfect the art of creating this look that is SO major RN.

1. PLACE THE PIGMENT
The lower you take the shadow, the more dramatic the look will be. Using a shadow stick or a duo-fibre brush (like M·A·C)— for the strongest effect, wet the brush—start the shadow directly under your lashes.

2. BLEND IT WELL

Buff obvious lines or edges back and forth, in windshield- wiper motions, suggests make-up artist Katie Jane Hughes. A fluffy brush (try Bobbi Brown) makes it easy.

3. LIGHTEN UP ON LOWER LASHES

“Under-shadow adds a lot of eye drama on its own,” says Katie. Tissue off your mascara wand to get a milder effect on the bottom fringe.

4. SAVE THE FOUNDATION FOR LAST
That way, if powder flecks fall, you can wipe them away without ruining your base.

OMBRÉ GAZE : Focus cobalt shadow at bottom outer edges, and highlight inner corners in platinum.

SEXY LITE : Baby-step into the trend with a swipe of soft taupe—it works day or night.

SMOKEY 2.0 : Chocolate shadow plus inky inner rims? Sexy in seconds.
