The Hairstyles Everyone Will Be Obsessed With, Revealed

When there's a braid you want to try or a color you're thinking about dyeing your hair, your first stop on the research trail is most likely Google. Well, the search engine isn't just letting your searches sit there idly. Armed with all your queries, it did an analysis and figured out what it is you want right now — from your hair.

Google released its first Beauty Trends Report on Thursday, following its (also first) Fashion Trends Report earlier this year. The report articulates and confirms what you've likely been seeing in beauty stories, on red carpets, and on social media, like that the sock bun is out but the top knot is still going strong. Here are some of the other major takeaways from the report:

1. You're All About That Braid

Box braids, like the kind Beyoncé is wearing above, and goddess braids are two of the most searched for braids. Dutch braids, halo braids, and crown braids are still really popular, while fishtail braids are on the decline.

2. Your Hair Isn't Going Gray Anymore

While silver and gray hair (and not the natural kind) are trending, the report suggests that it "may soon be fleeting." Purple and blue are colors you'll keep seeing. "Americans are becoming more playful when it comes to colors," according to the report. "From metallics to pastels, trending searches come in all different tones." Still, nobody cares enough about rainbow hair anymore to search for it.

3. Your Hair Is Probably a Lob

Searches are way up for lob haircuts (171 percent), along with shag haircuts (255 percent), short bob haircuts (65 percent), and lob bob (40 percent).

4. Your Man Wants a Comb-Over

The man bun still has traction, and dudes are continuing to pull up their long locks the way of Harry Styles, but another trend that's big right now is the comb-over, exemplified by Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham's cuts above.
