This Make-Up Inspired by Marine Life is Utterly Mesmerising

It's not just the Kardashians and Jenners setting the beauty trends, you know. On the flipside you've got colourists channeling famous works of art with dreamy hair hues and make-up artists creating masterpieces inspired by extraordinary sea life.

This is blowing our minds.

Celebrity make-up artist Karla Powell took direct inspiration from native Maldivian fish that illuminate the Indian Ocean, and as she shows, the underwater world in the Maldives is second to none.

Commissioned by holiday company Kuoni, Karla created the looks using acrylic painting brushes (instead of traditional makeup tools), and a combo of Mehron Face paints, loose eye shadow powders and glitter. She's got MAJOR skills.

Having only just mastered chroming and blurred lips (keep up at the back), we probs won't be trying these elaborate looks on ourselves. It won't stop us obsessing over them though. 

It takes #makeupgoals to a whole new level.
