Forget spending money on separate tools

People are Contouring With Their Toothbrush

Another weird and wonderful contour trend has infiltrated our Insta-feeds, and it involves a toothbrush. Yep, it's exactly what your thinking. Apparently, toothbrushes = the new contour tool. Because why spend money on makeup brushes and Beautyblenders when you can get killer cheekbones for just 50 bucks?

This trend follows clown contouring and multi-coloured contouring, but instead of teaching us WHERE to apply the contour, this short clip is all about WHICH tool to use. And by tool, we mean an Oral-B toothbrush.

Beauty vlogger Miriam Marroquinn posted this bizzare video to her Instagram to demonstrate how she sculpts her face using the oral care product. She recommends using a soft bristled toothbrush to create a natural looking contour.

Admittedly, this looks like it would be pretty rough on the skin, because toothbrushes are primarily made for, well, teeth. We can only imagine the pain of trying to seamlessly blend it in with all of those bristles (ouch).

But we have to say, we love the creativity behind this idea and the results look kinda good! Although we think we'll keep our toothbrushes strictly for teeth cleaning, and our MAC brushes for contouring.
