3 Easy Things That'll Give You Salon Hair in an Hour

You don't always need to spend a tonne of cash at a hair spa or loading up on products to get those shampoo-ad locks. Just head to your kitchen, and by just putting a few things together, you'll be all set to flaunt those luscious locks, all within an hour!

Here are 3 DIY treatments that are easy to make, low cost, and most importantly, chemical-free...

1. The Mayonnaise Pack for Damaged Hair

Loaded with amino acids and antioxidants, mayo can do wonders to your dry and damaged hair. The eggs and oil in your favourite sandwich spread help add moisture and shine to dry, parched strands.

All you need to do is dampen your hair with warm water and gently apply Mayonnaise (home-made or store bought) like the way you apply your conditioner. Wrap your head with with a shower cap to generate some heat, to help open pores and allow the mayo to penetrate. Let it sit for 30-40 minutes, then shampoo your hair to wash it out.

2.The Yoghurt, Egg and Honey Miracle Mane Maker

The goodness of these ingredients no longer need any introduction. The eggs give your hair protein, honey is a natural humectant, which means it attracts moisture (plus it's loaded with all kinds of antioxidants and nutrients), while yoghurt conditions hair and tackles dandruff.

If you have an oily scalp, mix 2 eggs with 2 tablespoons of honey, and apply the mixture to hair strands. Cover hair with a shower cap and relax for about 40 minutes. Shampoo your hair to reveal swishy, shiny, well moisturised hair.

PS: if your scalp is dry, replace the eggs with yoghurt, and repeat the same procedure.

3. The Aloe Vera Awesome Sauce

The green-cactus looking plant is capable of solving many of your beauty related issues. Aloe Vera is rich in amino acids, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and proteolytic enzymes which tackle dead skin on the scalp. Aloe isn't just a great moisturiser for hair, but it also promotes growth and guards against scalp infection.

To max all these benefits, cut the plant and scoop out the gel with a spoon or scooper. Apply this gel to damp hair and scalp, and cover your head with a warm towel. Give it 20-30 minutes to sink in and work its magic, then suds up with a mild shampoo. The result—glossy hair!
