Why are Women Rubbing Garlic On Their Faces?

The people of Instagram really will try anything in the name of beauty. I mean, why brush your teeth with your toothbrush when you can contour with it instead?

The latest trend isn't to be sniffed at (lol) because apparently if you've woken up with the mother of all spots on your face, rubbing a clove of garlic on it will help heal it.

Beauty vlogger, Farah Dhukhai tried the hack on her Instagram. Rubbing a garlic clove on a (very tiny) spot on her chin. Farah advises to first make some cuts in the garlic clove to get to the 'juice' (gag). Apparently her trick makes whiteheads disappear instantly, while larger spots need the garlic to work its magic overnight.

The health benefits of garlic have long been praised, for helping to lower high blood pressure and cholesterol but this spot hack might not be total BS. Allicin, a chemical compound found in raw garlic has antimicrobial properties, which potentially could reduce the redness and size of your pimples.

Hmmm as much as I hate spots and love garlic (bread) I think I'll leave this one to the people of Instagram.

2016 really is a great time to be alive isn't it?
