Here's Why You Should NEVER Try This Deodorant Makeup Hack

Beauty isn't like algebra class – when you're doing your makeup, you're more than welcome to use hacks, cheats, and tips from your friends. But there are some hacks that are just too good to be true, ones that could have negative effects on your body. And the latest and ~wildest~ beauty trick is one of those situations.

Beauty vlogger, Shabnam Khawja, uses deodorant (a new stick, don't worry) to keep away those shiny patches you get on your face throughout the day. She says a little swipe of deo gives your glam look the perfect matte finish. She recommends rubbing some on your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin, like you would highlighter, and then applyingyour foundation and powder like normal.

But unfortunately, this hack might not be the best choice for everyone. Dr. Christine Choi Kim, a California based dermatologist, says that this trick could have some majorly unpleasant side-effects.

"Using either an antiperspirant or deodorant on your face could lead to irritation, allergic reactions, and possibly breakouts," she told Seventeen.com

She also says that the tip might not even work the way you want it to. "Deodorant alone just masks odors. Antiperspirants stop sweating from occurring... I would use a product specifically designed to keep your face matte, like OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel."

So there you have it guys, let's just keep the deodorant to our armpits, shall we?
