Watch This Makeup Artist Flawlessly Transform Her Face Into Famous Paintings

If you ever find yourself in need of proof that makeup is its own spectacular art form, look no further than Lexie Lazear's gorgeous Instagram. Every look the makeup artist and wig designer posts is as stunning, magical, and colorful as the last — but recently, Lazear has begun drawing inspiration from her favorite famous paintings, and the results truly take things to the next level.

After a look she posted inspired by Van Gogh's Starry Night Over the Rhone seemed to get a super positive response from her friends, family, and followers, Lazear recently became inspired to turn her art-inspired looks into a whole series.

"I love art, so I started with pieces that have always spoken to me, and plan to keep going until I'm struck by a new inspiration," she told Buzzfeed. "I think my favorite part is ... deciding what will go where, and how to make it not just a copy of the painting on my face, but instead make the painting as fantasy makeup."

As Lazear went on to explain, she views makeup as a "functional" art because it allows people to express themselves on a smaller, everyday scale. Obviously, she likes to take this form of expression to the next level, and it's all kinds of beautiful. Even more amazing, she includes all the products she used for each look in the caption, just in case you ever decide you want to try and recreate them. (Good luck.)
