Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a cult filmmaker who recreates magic on the silver screen with his rich taste and period film sequences, delivered one of his most loved masterpiece when the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer Bajirao Mastani released, two years ago.
There were a lot of speculations about the 'chemistry' between Bhansali's leading ladies when he directed Bajirao Mastani, since two A-list actresses of Bollywood were pitted against each other in this film. Rumours have always been rife about their rivalry, since the two talented performers have not just broken records in India, but even treaded International waters to garner mass fame and popularity!
Reportedly, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone didn't seem to be getting along very well while shooting for the dance song Pinga in the film. A behind-the-scene video of the song's making posted on one of PeeCee's fan clubs three days ago, begins with the two squabbling—their backs against each other, and seemingly miffed with the other's presence...
...well got fooled too didn't you? DP and PeeCee are not really BFFs in town, but have tremendous respect for one another and perfectly act out the tension that their characters demand in that film.
Priyanka talks about it in the background of the video, saying — "It was Sanjay Sir's dream, and we like to make dreams come true. He wanted this whole song to be like this fight...we decided we're going to recreate competition."
Here's a video of the entire making of the song:
Who could possible not fall in love with the magnificent piece of art that this song turned out to be, with Bollywood's fave actors indulging in an apparent dance-off?!
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmavati starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, is all set for release this December, and by the looks of its main leads' dramatic avatars, not to mention a gripping trailer—one simply can't wait for it!
