Ileana D'Cruz Takes the Cosmo Quiz

"Why can't people talk about sex."

“We are obviously doing it, all the time! But still, sex is treated as this big taboo that we can’t ever talk about. I mean, I was running around talking about it comfortably when I was 14 years old! Well, me and a few other girls from my class—we were the only ones who’d even say the word without whispering, and I never got it. I’d loudly ask why they couldn’t say ‘SEX’, and people would panic. It was nuts then; and it’s nuts now,” she sighs, defeatedly.

Her openness on the subject of sex extends heart-and-soul to relationships as well, but the subject isn’t all cheery and chuckle-inducing. “My greatest fear is being left. I still have moments where I will break down and cry because I’m so insecure that my partner will leave me. I am constantly terrified about a sexier, more charming woman taking him away from me. My therapist has literally told me to calm the hell down and stop worrying about what hasn’t even happened, and that my partner convinces me every day is not goingtohappen.SoItrytodoitona daily basis, but it’s hard. I think it definitely makes me a very possessive girlfriend in the bargain (something my partner is totally okay with, thank God). I’m all about the PDA as well—sitting on his lap, hugs, kisses. I’m super-affectionate as a girlfriend, so I guess that’s a good counter!” she shrugs, haplessly but charmingly. “It just goes to show how different my work self and relationship self are. I’m as secure about my work as I am insecure about my relationship. Yin and Yang.”
