Katrina Kaif Reveals How She Ended Up Signing 'Bharat' Opposite Salman Khan

After Bharat's director Ali Abbas Zafar posted a cryptic tweet about Priyanka Chopra's exit from the project (and hinting on her engagement and wedding with Nick Jonas), the Internet was flooded with numerous speculations about the couple.

Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her ... Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life ???

And in the middle of all that, the news of Katrina Kaif joining the cast of this movie, opposite Salman Khan broke and fans just couldn't wait to see another Salman-Katrina hit the big screens. 

In conversation with Mumbai Mirror, Katrina Kaif opened up about how she ended up signing this movie.

"I have always chosen films on the basis of scripts and my characters. So, I am very excited to be joining the film. I completely love the character that I am going to play," she said.

Adding to how exactly it happened, she goes, "So he (Ali Abbas Zafar) called me and said, he calls me 'Goldfish' and said, 'Goldfish, I am sending you a script. Just read it and react to it.' I thought the script was wonderful. I am very excited to be a part of this team again." 

While we're exciting to see Katrina Kaif in the movie, coming back to why this replacement happened, we're curiously waiting for Priyanka or Nick to give an official statement.
