People Have Just Discovered There's an Alternate Ending to Titanic

Is it... a comedy now?

Everyone is pretty well acquainted with the ending of Titanic that we already know and love. Big ship meets iceberg, no room on the door, old-lady-Rose secretly chucks the world's most expensive diamond into the ocean while making documentary out of the whole chilly saga. That's the general gist. But, as it turns out, there was an alternate ending to the hit movie which is now doing the rounds on social media, and people are really very confused about it.

As we know the story is told through flashbacks of Kate Winslet's now elderly character Rose, who is recounting the horrifying incident for a documentary. In the original final moments of the film, present-day Rose, now on a treasure hunting boat secretly drops the infamous diamond necklace into the ocean so it can be laid to rest with Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio). Crucially, she does this in secret, since the crew onboard the boat is out searching for that exact necklace, given to her by her terrible fiancé on the Titanic.

However, is this new and slightly overdramatic alternate version of the ending instead of slipping the necklace into the sea in secret, Rose first places it into the hand of treasure hunter Brock Lovett (Bill Paxton), before delivering a few cheesy lines and flinging it theatrically into the ocean.
