9 Secret Celebrity Nicknames You Didn't Know Existed

We've all had that one nickname that stuck with us while growing up or that special name that we are called by our family and BFFs. Let's face it, we don't even like our nicknames half of the time, it just, kind of....sticks (It's not as cute or funny as you think it is mom, just FYI!) Well, many of our favourite Tinseltown actors also have their own share of weird, funny and adorable nicknames, and many of them are reserved for those in their inner circle...TILL NOW! We did our sleuthing and put together a list of secret celebrity nicknames for you. Some you may have heard of. Some will have you saying, wait...WHAT?

1. Priyanka Chopra a.k.a Mimi

In an interview to an online portal, Priyanka revealed that her mom nicknamed her Mimi after French actor Mimi Rogers. Anyone see a resemblance? 

2. Shraddha Kapoor a.k.a Chirkut

Say what now? Shraddha's nickname was outed by Varun Dhawan when he wished her Happy Birthday on Instagram last year. Wondering what it means? Well... it's street-speak for someone who is a dolt or an imbecile. Shraddha? Really? We are not quite sure we get it!

3. Jennifer Anniston a.k.a Mamma

Rumour has it that Rumour Has It actor Jennifer Anniston is called 'Mamma' by some of her closest friends, and according to her longtime makeup artist Angela Levin, it's because she reminds everyone of kindness, generosity, love and family. Awww!

4. Sonam Kapoor a.k.a Giraffe 

 

Sonam was called 'Giraffe' by her dad Anil Kapoor while growing up, and according to the actor, it was because she had a really long neck!

5. Ranbir Kapoor a.k.a Raymond

Okay, so we all know that Ranbir, in the tradition of odd Kapoor nicknames, is called 'Duggu'. But did you know that his mom has a special name for him? She calls him 'Raymond' because she feels that he is a complete man. No one loves us quite like our mom's, do they?

Nick's wife Priyanka revealed her cute nickname for the singer, otherwise known as OMJ. "I call him ‘Old Man Jonas.’ That’s my name for him, ‘OMJ,'” she said during her appearance at the World Summit in 2019."He’s such an old soul, extremely smart, so good for me because he grounds me so much. 7. Alia Bhatt a.k.a Alools

Alia, who was an adorable, chubby kid, is called 'Aaloo' by her mom and 'Alools' by her sister, which pretty much translates to potato.

8. Ryan Gosling a.k.a Mouseboy

Personally, we would have named him 'Babydaddy' (kidding), but back in 2012, Ryan revealed his school friends nicknamed him 'Mouseboy' after he was named a Mouseketeer as part of The Mickey Mouse Club TV show that launched his career.

9. Shahid Kapoor a.k.a Sasha

While Shahid's wife  Mira calls him 'Shadoo', his friends and family call him 'Sasha'. Apparently, the name just stuck while he was growing up.
