‘The Kardashians’ Producer Spills About Being in the Room With Khloé When Tristan Infidelity News Broke

ICYMI, the Kardashian-Jenners decided to start anew with The Kardashians. You could say that the move was a culmination of many things: facilitated shooting schedules, more money (allegedly), and, per Khloé Kardashian, the fact that “to be still on cable was just not so on brand for us,” which...fair!

Fast-forward to the newest iteration of the Kardashians’ show, which producer Danielle King says involves shooting preeeeetty much 24/7. “We have a shoot schedule five days a week, Monday through Friday. But that’s not always what we stick to. Oftentimes on the weekend, they’ll text or call or they’ll say something’s going on so my crew will rally and will get to whatever they’re doing. It’s a set schedule, but we also leave a lot of room for spontaneity.”

And although there are countless moments that are bound to unfold in the series’ coming episodes, the producer revealed to US Weekly that Tristian’s paternity drama really did unfold IRL, with Khloé’s reaction being captured in real-time.

“Well, for that particular moment, my crew was there,” she said. “We were there to film something else early in the morning, and the morning that news broke, we legitimately just happened to be there. We have that moment on camera. And I know sometimes it’s tough for the audience to kind of grasp like ‘Oh, did they go back and did they capture this?’ But there were so many moments that we genuinely captured just because we’re almost always there. There’s almost always a camera going.” TL;DR: There’s nothing scripted about Khloé digesting the bad news on camera.

While the season is currently showing events from October 2021, we know that in January 2022, Tristan finally confirmed the speculation he fathered a third child with Maralee Nichols. Khloé opened up to USA Today last month about it and revealed her hardest filming moment was the morning Kim called her about the initial rumor. The stunning discovery came on the heels of Tristan’s two previous cheating scandals: the first in 2018, days before the birth of their daughter, True, and the second only a year later.

Of the latest cheating scandal news, Khloé admitted, “When you're hurt so many times–your reactions, your responses to the same thing happening over and over again–there is a numbing sensation to it.” Although some of the more difficult moments “are a bit shocking...you’re not really focused on the filming of it at all until you watch it back.”
