A Look Back at Deepika Padukone’s Best Fashion Moments at Cannes Film Festival

Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world said to be held on May 17 this year. Bollywood actor, Deepika Padukone has been chosen to be a part of the exclusive jury for the 75th Cannes Film Festival which reviews and rewards one of the 21 films in Competition with the Palme d'Or. Along with esteemed names such as actor-filmmaker Rebecca Hall and Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, festival organizers announced.

Reportedly, the star will be representing India at Cannes as a part of her collaboration with Louis Vuitton, a French luxury fashion house and company. As we await the first images of Padukone at the event, here’s a walk down sartorial memory lane for a refresh on her best looks at Festival de Cannes thus far.

In her first appearance on the Cannes 2017 red carpet, Padukone looked stunning in a sheer tulle Marchesa Notte gown featuring an embellished bodice and a figure-hugging silhouette. She finished off her look with Jimmy Choo heels and De Grisogono jewellery.

Another memorable fashion moment from the Cannes 2018 red carpet; Padukone's larger-than-life ensemble. Case in point: her fuschia pink Ashi Studio gown that was all about high octane drama, featuring traffic-stopping ruffles and XXL power shoulders.

The red carpet pro continued her winning streak in a sheer embellished Zuhair Murad gown featuring an impressive embroidered cape, plunging neckline, and a delicate fishtail silhouette for a vibe that was very celestial-meets-old-Hollywood-glamour.

For the 2018 edition of the Cannes Film Festival press day, the star went shirtless in a stunning Victoria Hayes purple power suit that flaunted her enviable frame and long legs teamed with minimal gold jewellery, her signature hairdo, and bold make-up.

Deepika Padukone stepped onto the red carpet at the Pain And Glory premiere during the 2019 Cannes Film Festival in an all-encompassing lime tulle creation by Giambattista Valli. She matched the gown's pale pink bows with a floral turban headband by Emily-London.

For her second appearance at the 2019 Cannes film festival, the actress turned heads in a black and white Dundas dress. The gown’s long train and exaggerated black bow were made even more dramatic by her high ponytail and winged eyeliner that was styled to perfection.

For her morning look at Cannes 2019 film festival Deepika opted for a striking power suit by Loewe, set in a nautical color palette mirroring the sunny French Riviera outside. She rounded off the look with bright orange-colored heels and retro black sunglasses.

Padukone marched briskly back to her quarters to pull a complete 180 with her next look—an edgy black tulle dress by Off-White. The prom-ready silhouette was given a contemporary update with an on-trend neon green snakeskin bodice and topped off with an impactful pair of black sneakers.

Before anyone quite had the chance to catch their breath, the star was out and about again in a white sheer top paired with high-waisted nude pants that served as the sartorial equivalent of a palate refresher after the storm of neons. With her hair pulled back in a messy ponytail, she opted for a dewy, sun-basked finish and defined brows to complete her look.
