Regé-Jean Page Clarified Those Rumors That He's Returning to 'Bridgerton'

If you've been hoping / praying that the Duke of Hastings would make a dashing return for another incredibly horny season of Bridgerton in season 3, sorry to disappoint: it's not gonna happen. Regé-Jean Page shut down recent rumors that he was returning to the show after being spotted with his co-star Jonathan Bailey. Sharing a photo of himself and Jonathan strolling around Milan, Regé-Jean said "The boys are back in town" and then parenthetically added "(No, I’m not going back to the show btw - the papers made that one up.) But we had the best, and most stylish, catch up I’ve had in a while over some truly excellent Italian coffee and sunshine ☕️"

I'm :(

Reminder, Netflix announced Regé-Jean's departure from Bridgerton back in April 2021, writing a note to fans from Lady Whistledown:

“While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings. We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family. Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer—more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear.”

Meanwhile, Regé-Jean told Variety that he was told “It’s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end—give us a year. [I thought], That’s interesting, because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit, and then the Bridgerton family rolls on. I have nothing but excitement for Bridgerton continuing to steam train off and conquer the globe. But there is also value in completing these arcs and sticking the landing.”
