Although Don’t Worry Darling is only Olivia’s second directing project—she made her directorial debut in 2019 with the majorly successful and critically acclaimed teen comedy Booksmart—she’s already established herself as a badass force to be reckoned with behind the camera. Famously, she fired Shia LaBeouf from this project, citing her “no assholes policy,” a way of thinking that she expanded upon in Variety’s Director on Director series:

Yesterday was our final day on the set of Don’t Worry Darling.” Olivia did the same, sharing a sweet behind-the-scenes pic and praising Florence in the caption: “To work with an actor as talented and brave as @FlorencePugh is any director’s dream. I will forever be grateful for you, Flo. It was an honor to be your captain. Can’t wait for the world to see the astonishing work you’ve put into this movie.”
