Lupita Nyong'o Just Wore a Dress That Throws Light on a Big Issue!

Remember back in February when the #AskHerMore was all everyone was talking about? Just ahead of the Oscars this year, female actors like Reese Witherspoon, Patricia Arquette and many others joined forces to push the media to ask them more questions than "who are you wearing".

Which is why the dress Lupita Nyong'o wore to a recent promotional event for her upcoming movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The actress has been a voice for women's empowerment ever since she broke into Hollywood two years ago with her Oscar-winning performance in 12 Years A Slave.

That's why when she wore a ZAC Zac Posen dress with LED lights that were coded entirely by young female coders, people did notice and they did #AshHerMore. And it was a gorgeous dress on top of that. The dress even actually lit up in different sections as she walked.

So here's the cool part. The young programmers are part of Google's Made with Code initiative that encourages young women to take up programming because the representation of women in technology is such few numbers. Go Google!

And so, they have many interactive projects that train women to do just that. Of course, if there were the chance that Lupita Nyong'o would actually wear your creation on the red carpet, who wouldn't be encouraged?

That's fashion fighting a cause for you. And now, time for me to go back to creating my website.
