REVEALED: Karan Johar is Finally Launching THIS Female Lead in Student of the Year-2

There's a reason Karan Johar is revered as a Godfather to the budding star kids in Bollywood, with successful cases of many of them passing with flying colours under his banner, Dharma Productions.

One such venture was Student of the Year, which launched three new artistes in the industry—Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Today, all three of them can thank KJo for kick-starting their Bollywood career, as all of them are winning hearts and soaring new heights by the day!

Five years later, the sequel to the film has amassed a lot of attention, especially about the proposed cast that will be featured. It has been touted that this time, the film will have two female leads and one male lead, in contrast to its prequel. While Tiger Shroff had been finalised as the male lead of the film, there has been immense contemplation regarding its female counterpart.

Several upcoming starlets have been known to be a part of the project, only to change their mind later. Initially, the talented Disha Patani was rumoured to star opposite real-life beau Tiger Shroff, but she was reportedly out of it.

This was followed by rumours of the role going to Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter—Sara Ali Khan. She eventually chose to ditch the project for another upcoming film, Kedarnath, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Rumour has it that her mother Amrita Singh, was adamant that she made her debut under Ekta Kapoor's production house, which made her rethink SOTY-2.

Sara was replaced by Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's first born—Jhanvi Kapoor. But all rumours were put to rest when news of her debut opposite Shahid Kapoor's step-brother, Ishan Khattar in the remake of Sairat, began to surface

After this entire turn of events, it looks like Karan Johar's much talked about Student of the Year-2 has finally found its leading lady, in none other than—wait for it—Ananya Pandey!

Yeah ICYMI, Ananya Pandey is the 18 year old daughter of Bollywood actor, Chunky Pandey. In an interview with a leading tabloid, he was also quoted saying, "Yes, Ananya wants to be an actress and she had informed me about her decision sometime ago. Be it Ahaan or Ananya, I want the kids to create their own identity and be a brand in their own right."

Having recently graduated from Dhirubhai Ambani International High School, Ananya is already prepping up for her grand entry on the silver-screen. She has been training with celebrity trainer and nutritionist, Yasmin Karachiwala, and is also taking acting and dancing classes to hone her skills. Not just that, news has it that Salman Khan has been closely mentoring the young star kid.

She looks pretty promising, and fans are brimming with excitement to see what unfolds next for this much-awaited Bollywood project. So are we!
