Here's How Bollywood Reacted to Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's Case

One of them got it very, very wrong though. #WakeUpSid

Havoc wreaked in North India on Friday(Aug. 25) evening when self-styled Godman, Dera Sacha Sauda(DSS) Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted of rape and other criminal offences, basis an anonymous written complaint in 2002 stating his act of sexual exploitation against two of his female followers.

Thousands of Dera followers went on a rampage in Punjab, Haryana, UP and some areas of Delhi as well, post the verdict—claiming 28 lives, and leaving 250 injured. What's more, the blinded believers didn't stop at that, and public property in the likes of DTC buses, and two empty coaches of Rewa Express were torched, leaving everyone aghast at the followers indulging in riots to protect their rapist leader. The situation was so tense, that countries like the UK and China issued directives to people travelling to India to be careful, which blatantly highlights the gravity of the situation!

Security was beefed up on the day, as well as over the weekend, and these areas are under high-alert to ensure safety of the people, especially today when the criminal's sentence will be officially announced today at 2.30 pm.

Bollywood celebs like Twinkle Khanna, Raveena Tandon, Farhan Akhtar, Sidharth Malhotra and others expressed their grief, and anger on Twitter.
