Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh Seek Psychiatric Help to Get Over the Effect of 'Padmavati'

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmavati has been the talk of the town ever since its inception. With each look of the three lead characters Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh being unveiled one at a time, the buzz around the film just seems to be rising and people are itching with excitement for this period drama film.

Ranveer Singh who has been in the news before as well for his intense association with his character every time he plays a challenging role, has once again tapped deep into his vast pool of talent for his iconic portrayal of the villain Alauddin Khilji. He recently revealed his look, and obviously, the Internet as well our Bollywood celebs went gaga over it!

But his fantastic on-screen image always comes at a price. Just like he did for Lootera and Bajirao Mastani, Ranveer Singh delved into method acting and completely got under the skin of his negative character Alauddin Khilji. To channelise that supreme level of unabashed cruelty into his character, sources reveal that Ranveer started responding like his onscreen negative role even in real life, which ultimately started wrecking his social behavior. So much so, that according to certain reports Ranveer has been advised to seek psychiatric help to battle the dark and savage mindset he had developed in the process of shooting for Padmavati.

Not only this, but even the female protagonist of the film Deepika Padukone who is essaying the role of Rani Padmini (or Padmavati) has also had to turn towards medical assistance in the process of the film's shoot. Reportedly, DP was extremely disturbed while preparing for the film's climax, the self-immolation scene or Jauhar. The suicide scene transported her back to the time when the actor was herself battling depression which she openly discussed with everyone later.

The actors who are renowned for their utmost perfectionism, finished the shoot diligently, but both of them had a deeply unsettling impact on their minds for the film.

If these reports are true, one can definitely imagine the unsurpassed brilliance that is about to be projected on the silver screen by these skilled artistes, with the film's release slated for December 1st.
