Source Claims That Dhadak Co-Stars, Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar's Alleged Affair is FAKE!

Ever since an official statement was released about the lead roles of Karan Johar's next, Dhadak, being played by Jahnvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar, fans have been raving about this fresh, new pairing and rumour mills are ablaze with hints of a possible relationship budding between the two youngsters.

Their chemistry was on-fleek, in the first look of their upcoming film, and the two have been spotted chilling together wayyy too many times. So much so, that Shahid Kapoor, Ishaan's older half-brother and mentor in the film industry was reportedly unhappy with their closeness, and wanted Ishaan to focus more on his career at this stage, instead of caving into distractions!

But when the duo were still spotted together and hinting of a possible off-screen romance, something smelled quite off and India.com decided to delve into the matter.

According to their source, who is also working closely on the film, this "affair" is deliberately being promoted, to create a hype around the film. It is a known fact that a real romance between a reel-life couple gets fans hooked, and keeps them interested in the film. Wow, well played!

"The makers know how much fans and media love Bollywood love stories. And Ishaan and Janhvi's film is a tragic love story, where the two characters are hopelessly in love with each other. A real life romance angle just adds to the interest around a film with such a subject," said the source.

The source further said since the two actors are starting out now and need as much attention as they can garner from the media and fans, which will be the case all thanks to rumours of a possible romance.

"It is not difficult to plant stories about a couple's affair and then have them hang out together, attract media glare, to fan the relationship rumours. If at all, all the media around Ishaan and Janhvi's closeness to each other will only help their debut movie."
