Did Karan Johar Play Cupid to Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor?

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's relationship rumours were seen as an occupational hazard for the longest time. Two good looking actors, filming for their upcoming movie in a scenic city of Europe, rumours were bound to float. However, when Ranbir Kapoor gave an interview to a magazine and mentioned how it was "really new" and needed "time to breathe and space", a lot of hearts were broken. 

The heart-throb of Bollywood, Ranbir dating Bollywood's darling, Alia, broke the Internet. Be it Alia uploading pictures taken by Ranbir on Instagram, or Neetu Singh giving her stamp of approval for the same, the fans are simply loving it. 

Alia has time and again mentioned on chat-shows how she has had a huge crush on her now beau, Ranbir Kapoor. We wonder how this translated into the relationship that they have today. A caller on Karan Johar's chat show, Calling Karan Season 2, asked if he played cupid to Alia and Ranbir. Karan denied having any role in this, however his expressions said otherwise. 

Even if we were to believe what Karan said, the next caller piqued everyone's curiosity. The caller asked if a newcomer confided in him about a crush. The director said it happened on the sets of Student Of The Year, which happens to be Alia's debut movie. *cough,cough*

He quickly added that the crush eventually became a relationship. We wonder who he was talking about?! :D
