Why We Probably Won't See Any More Pictures of a Pregnant Meghan Markle

In the five months we've known about Meghan Markle's pregnancy, we've seen the Duchess and her growing bump out and about numerous times. But it seems those days are over, as it's thought Meghan Markle has now gone on maternity leave - sort of.

While her mat leave hasn't officially been confirmed, Buckingham Palace said in a statement that Meghan does not "currently have any more official engagements scheduled". With the Duchess of Sussex's due date thought to be around five or six weeks away, it's unlikely that any further public engagements will now be arranged that involve Meghan.

It means we probably won't see any more photos or videos of the royal mum-to-be going about her official business, but that doesn't mean she's stopping work all together. It was previously reported that Meghan wants to work right up until her due date, with a source telling Vanity Fair: "Meghan has told aides she wants to work as close to her due date next spring as possible".

And it seems that's still the case, as Meghan is reportedly still scheduling in private work-related meetings with charities and other organisations in the weeks leading up to the birth. Buckingham Palace confirmed in their statement that the Duchess is set to attend "several private meetings" in the coming few weeks.

In among all the meetings, Meghan and husband Prince Harry also have to navigate an entire house move in the coming weeks, to ensure they're all settled in before the time their baby arrives. The couple are relocating from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, following major renovations to turn the cottage from staff quarters back into a suitable family home.

In what's thought to have been her last week of public work, Meghan has had a busy one. After speaking on a panel discussion for International Women's Day last Friday, the Duchess made two appearances in one day on Monday (11 March) as she celebrated Commonwealth Day with the rest of the royal family.

So, at eight months pregnant, we're sure she'll be glad to finally have some time to rest (aside from all that packing, of course).
