Meghan Markle Just Commented on All the Hate She Gets
  • Meghan Markle commented on all the negative rumors about her and Prince Harry.
  • She briefly spoke with Pharrell about being in the spotlight.

Ever since she started dating Prince Harry and stepped into the royal spotlight, Meghan Markle has been put through the ringer when it comes to tabloid reports and downright offensive and racist comments made about her. A little taste of what she's had to deal with: She's been called "nasty" by Donald Trump, she was called "difficult" for being ambitious and going after what she wants, outlets are constantly pitting her against her in-laws, and she's been mom-shamed for the way she holds baby Archie. It's so messed up and a lot of it is based on "overblown" rumors.

Unfortunately, even though Meghan says she tries to avoid the negativity by focusing on reading about the economy, she's definitely heard many of the things people say about her. And while at The Lion King premiere in London, Meghan spoke with Pharrell Williams about how difficult it can be.

When Pharrell greeted Meghan and Harry on the red carpet, he told her:

"So happy for your union. Love is amazing. It’s wonderful. Don’t ever take that for granted, but what it means in today’s climate, I just wanted to tell you, it’s so significant for so many of us. Seriously. It’s significant. We cheer you guys on.”

    Truer words!

The audio from the encounter was a little hard to hear, but some kind peeps over at ITV were able to discern what they both were saying. When Pharrell finished speaking, Meghan replied, "Thank you. They don't make it easy." Ugh, preach!

It's impossible to tell if this hate will ever slow down, but it seems Meghan is doing her best to ignore it and focus on herself, her job, and her family, even when it isn't easy. An icon, truly.
