The word Yoga itself derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolising the union of body and consciousnesses. Malaika's latest Instagram post is all about a Yoga pose she swears by, the Camatkarasana, which literally means 'the ecstatic'. This pose also known as the 'Flip Dog Pose' or the 'Wild Thing Pose' meticulously combines backbend and single-hand balance and is meant to energise your spirit and mind. Here is a picture of the pose.

That pretty impressive, and it doesn't look easy! Well, Malaika says that miracles don't happen overnight, they take time, take effort and need for us to be open, but they are not impossible. Thanks for that dose of #MondayMotivation, Malaika👌🏼. She then goes on to talk about the benefits of this pose.

"Speaking of miracles, here is a variation of the Chamatkarasana, which helps us do just this!
It truly is a miracle asana, which helps in both physical and psychological benefits.
1. It meticulously combines the back bend and single hand balance.
2. Physically, it opens the chest, shoulders and throat.
3. Opens the hips and hip flexors.
4. Stretches and strengthens the back.
5. It cultivates feelings of universal love and acceptance."

...followed by a reminder to inculcate some gratitude.

"Here's my gratitude message for you today, 'May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.' Hello Universe, Hello new week!"

Brb, working on our core-strength and balance so that we can nail the Camatkarasana and reap some of these fabulous benefits!
