Miss Colombia Has Been "Grieving" Over Her Miss Universe Loss, Also Turning Down Porn Film Offers

In the pageant flop to end all pageant flops, Miss Universe host Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner of the Miss Universe pageant earlier this month. We all know this, we're all still cringing. No-one was hit harder by the gaffe than the not-quite Miss Universe Ariadna Gutierrez, Miss Colombia, whose reign lasted approximately three minutes before it turned out she was just the first runner-up. MY GOSH.

Now, in a new interview with a Colombian radio station (via The Hollywood Reporter), Gutierrez is rehashing the trauma of it all. Initially believing the switcheroo was a joke on Harvey's part (he'd apparently been quite the comedian in rehearsals, though it's worth nothing that tiara-snatching is NEVER a good punchline), she said that the incident was "humiliating," and "a very big injustice" for her and her country. In the weeks since, Gutierrez explains that she's needed to "grieve" for her title, sash, and all, adding that "it is been so hard for me. I had always been dreamed about being Miss Universe. I dreamed to give that joy not only to my family but also to all Colombia."

If nothing else the moment has made her more infamous than any arguably other first-runner up before her — though, of reports the stunt was staged for attention, she noted only that if Miss Universe officials "wanted to gain ratings, they got them." Gutierrez said she's been "inundated" with modeling opportunities, TV and film jobs, and has even been offered the starring role in a porn film (this sort of thing is normally a stunt companies like Vivid Entertainment put out there for attention, though, and regardless, it's an offer she won't be accepting).

Also of note, in response to former Miss Universe pageant-owner Donald Trump's tweet that she and the actual Miss Universe, Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, should share the title, Gutierrez said that "for the first time, I agree with him."
