Emmy Awards: 6 of the Most Awkward Moments From This Year's Event

​It wouldn't be a Hollywood awards ceremony without a little cringe. And thanks to the likes of Amy Schumer and a couple of Taylor Swift's exes, this year's Emmys had more than a few watch-from-behind-your-hands moments. Here are 6 that we need to talk about RN:

1. John Mayer & Tom Hiddleston IN THE SAME ROOM

Tom Hiddleston walked the red carpet for the first time since it was revealed that he and Taylor Swift broke up, so we can't imagine that the possibility of running into another of her exes was one that appealed to him. No word on whether they actually met, but there was an awkward pan across the audience including both of them and it was JUICY. 

2. Tom Hiddleston and Priyanka Chopra got a lil flirtatious

Tom Hiddleston talked about his ex-girlfriend to People. When the magazine dared to ask if he and Taylor were still friends, he provided a total of four words: "Yes. Yes, we are." I imagine Tom only had four words to give because he was then probably immediately whisked away by a publicist (or undercover Taylor Swift employee). Or really, that was all he had to say about his new "friend."

In related (and somewhat exciting) Tom news, E! is reporting that the actor was spotted "openly flirting" with Priyanka Chopra. The pair presented an award together at the Emmys on Sunday. There was even an on-stage twirling moment.

According to one E! source, Tom and his arm around Priyanka at an after-party and "held her close." They were also spotted holding hands and talking closely. "Priyanka fixed Tom's bow-tie and then the two kissed on both cheeks," says the source. E! says the co-presenters then exchanged phone numbers, a "long hug," and "several" cheek kisses.​

3. Matt LeBlanc making things a bit weird with Emilia Clarke

She's confessed in the past to being a huge Friends fan, so we imagine she was pretty psyched to be having a conversation with the ACTUAL Joey Tribbiani via split screen on the red carpet. That is until Matt said that he hasn't watched Game of Thrones since the first season, and adding: "I fell out of touch with it and I guess that's when she started getting naked. So I need to catch up." Noooooooo.

4. Aziz Ansari not being able to finish his speech

After winning an Emmy for Parks & Rec, Aziz and co-creator Alan Young took to the stage to make a speech. However, Alan didn't split the time enough and Aziz couldn't get a word in. Instead, he bolted off the stage, then tried to come back on and speak but was cut off.

And we love her for it. She was busy talking about wearing a tampon to E! host Guiliana Rancic, and then the TV producers had to go and make it all weird by bleeping out half of her sentence. Because it's 2016 and tampons are THE WORST, obvs. 

6. Emilia Clarke pretty much being told to leave her interview

Poor Emilia; first Joey, now this. Things got SUPER CRINGEY when E! host Guiliana Racic gave Emilia Clarke her marching orders so that she could interview Heidi Klum instead. After Guiliana spotted the supermodel, she said: "You can go Emilia", and waved her off. Don't worry though B, you looked hot AF. 

7. Empire actor Terrence Howard's wife said he "Brings his character home"

When Terrence was asked to talk about his Empire character Lucious, his answer was beeped out when he said "He's an asshole". When Guiliana asked his wife Mira Pak if he brings the character home, she replied: "He does, quite often, actually" and it was awkward AF.
