In the past, lingerie brand Victoria's Secret has received clap-back over the unrealistic beauty standards promoted by their models and fashion shows. Well, all that is about to change, and actor Priyanka Chopra is leading the diverse-new fray.

Priyanka, along with football star Megan Rapinoe and five other women has joined Victoria's Secret as they attempt a complete overhaul of their image. The lingerie giant is ditching its 'Angels' or supermodels and shifting its focus to women's empowerment, giving a platform to female athletes, activists and entrepreneurs.

Introducing Priyanka and their other new faces, VS posted on their Instagram page:

"We are proud to announce an exciting new partnership platform, #TheVSCollective, designed to shape the future of Victoria’s Secret. These extraordinary partners, with their unique backgrounds, interests and passions will collaborate with us to create revolutionary product collections, compelling and inspiring content, new internal associate programs and rally support for causes vital to women."

As the brand overhauls its marketing, it also plans to lighten up stores, add new mannequins in several sizes and start selling nursing and post-mastectomy bras. VS will become its own public co this summer and has a new executive team and mostly female board. If there was ever a time to give your brand an empowered, more diverse overhaul, it is 2021! People have expressed hope that VS takes this step in the right direction further and include the representation of those with disabilities in the coming future.
