Chambray Shirt + FlaresThe key to pairing a shirt and pants is opposite washes. Your eye will be drawn to the lighter color, and the deeper shade is super slimming (Yes!). "I love that the flares elongate my petite frame," Martino says.
Vest + JeansStart with a denim vest and white jeans. If the day gets chilly, you can add a coat on top, but because the vest is sleeveless, you won't feel bulky.
Blazer + JeansBlack jeans and a dark blue denim blazer look structured and special without being too matchy-matchy. "It's perfect for a night out with my girlfriends," Martino says.
Baseball Hat + JeansMartino shows that when it comes to denim, there are plenty of unexpected options. "The baseball hat is a cool way to incorporate the fabric," she says. "I love how accessories can really pull an outfit together."
Overalls + JacketsOshKosh B'gosh no more. "The distressed style, and the fact that it's a dress rather than shorts, elevates the overalls from being too kid-like," Martino says.
Patterned Chambray + Fitted skirtDenim is a heavy material. Simple accessories are key when you want to keep your vibe light or dress things up. A pair of killer stilettos and dainty jewelry does just the trick. Martino chose a patterned chambray shirt for its contrast with the darker-wash skirt.
Dress + HeadbandMartino layered a denim shirtdress over a white slip dress with a fun fringed hem. "Wearing two dresses isn't something people often think to do, but it's an easy evolution between seasons," Martino says. "And it's a great flirty surprise on the bottom!"
Shorts + JacketsNice stems! "Jean shorts don't have to be exclusively for summer," Martino says. "Transition them to fall with a textured sweater and jacket." Don't forget the booties!
