This Is The Best Place to Sit on a Plane if You're Scared of Flying

If you're scared of flying, sometimes the best thing you can do is snuggle down with a blanket, slip an eye mask on, and fall asleep until you land somewhere hot and sunny. However, planes are noisy things and drifting off can be a bit of a struggle. So, where should you sit for optimum napping and less of the hustle and bustle?

Well, according to a recent JetBlue video

"In most planes, the engines are located under the wings. Sitting in the front of the wing is like being behind a speaker. All of the sounds of the engine and the disturbed air are projected away from you."

Now, that's not going to help if you're seated near a crying baby or a chatty neighbour, but providing your fellow passengers are quiet, this could be your best chance of sleeping through the flight.

JetBlue also offered tips on where to sit to feel the least amount of turbulence, saying that the best spot is generally the middle section of the cabin as it "offers the smoothest ride."

"There's less movement in the middle of the cabin because you're closer to the centre of gravity, much like a see-saw," they say. "The further away you are from the middle, the more you're going to experience motion like turbulence, but remember: turbulence is hardly ever dangerous."

So, now you know. Time to start picking those flight seats strategically.
