Celebrate World Chocolate Day with These Quick and Easy Desserts

Chocolates have an uncanny ability to boost our mood, they are pure joy on any day. Though we don’t need a reason to bite into anything chocolate…rich bars, gooey pastries or crispy cookies. But if the world gives us one, then why not make the most of it. July 7, every year is observed as World Chocolate Day. It is believed that chocolate was introduced in Europe on this day in 1550. 

To make your day, delicious and stress-free (studies have found that chocolates can actually reduce stress hormone levels in the body), here are some quick and easy chocolate dessert recipes. The upside, you can make them without spending more than 30 minutes in the kitchen. So, go on indulge!

Dark chocolate mousse

Ingredients

95ml Milk      

95 ml Whipped cream                              

18g Sugar                                                

38g Egg yolk                                            

260g Dark chocolate                                

10g Ginger powder                                  

335g Whipped cream                              

10g Vanilla bean seeds                          

Method

  1. Combine milk and cream in a heavy medium saucepan. Scrape in seeds from the vanilla bean; add the bean. Bring milk mixture to simmer. Remove from heat.
  2. Whisk egg yolks and sugar in medium bowl to blend. Gradually whisk hot milk mixture into yolk mixture. Return the mixture to the saucepan. Stir over low heat until the custard thickens.
  3. Pour this over crushed dark chocolate and mix well.
  4. Cool down to 40°C and fold in whipped cream.
  5. Add ginger powder.
  6. Put in a martini glass.
  7. Garnish with chocolate flakes and serve.

Phirni And Chocolate Twister (Sugarfree)

Equipment
6cm pastry mould with a height of 5cm
1 ¼’’ pastry mould.

Step 1

Ingredients

125g Milk
15g   Basmati Rice
Elachi Powder as per taste
A pinch of Safforn
10g Sugarfree Sweetos

Method

  1. In a saucepan take milk and boil.
  2. Soak basmati rice for 40mins and leave it a side.  After that sieve the rice so that the water drains. Then blend it a bit. After blending add semi crushed rice to the boiled milk.
  3. Then add elachi powder and saffron in it.
  4. Cook it for 20-25mins so that rice gets cooked and gets the required consistency of phirni.
  5. Add sugar sweetos in phirni and mix well.
  6. Put this phirni in a pastry mould of 1 ¼” and keep it in the refrigerator for half an hour to set.

Step 2

Ingredients

75g Dark chocolate (Sugar free)
100g Whipped cream

Method

Take melted dark chocolate in a bowl and mix well with the whipped cream.

Steps of Assembling the Final Product

  1. In a 6cm pastry mould, insert the soft center (phirni) and pipe the chocolate cream around it.
  2. Put this twister in deep freezer to set for approximately 2 hours.
  3. After that de-mould it and serve
