5 Healthy Ways to Get Fit For Those Who Hate Working Out

Not all killer abs or toned arms are made in the gym. While it is a great idea to include some form of physical activity in your day, getting shape is not only about how many hours you put working out.

So, if you just CANNOT bring yourself to join the lockdown-workout bandwagon, here's help to get in shape by making easy tweaks in your diet.

"People who seldom work out often resort to crash dieting to lose weight. However, the results are generally short lived and will cause more damage than benefit to your body," says Dr Simal Soin, founder, Aayna Clinic.

She adds that crash dieting can reduce your metabolism that make it difficult for you to maintain a healthy body weight and can even damage your skin and hair. So, if you want to keep your natural glowing skin and energy level, here are her tips to get fit while eating properly:

Practise mindful eating

"Focus on quantity and quality of food. Eat slowly and enjoy your meals to prevent overeating. It is also important to set realistic and easy to achieve weight loss goals to make sure you stick to your diet."

Minimize the consumption of sugar

"Sugar has high calories and  especially sugar-sweetened drinks such as sodas, juices and sweet teas. These are loaded with fructose, a type of simple sugar that increases your hunger and desire for food more than glucose which will directly affect your body weight."

Eat a colourful diet

"Include as many as fruits and nutritious vegetables in your diet to throw away the toxins from your body. Try adding fruits that are rich in vitamin C as they will help in achieving a glowing skin."

Cut down your alcohol consumption

"Your fitness regime will go down the drain if you have adopted a few bad habits. Drinking and smoking can damage your skin and body more than you can ever imagine."

Don’t compromise on your sleep

"The secret to glowing, healthy skin and charged up body is sound sleep. Inadequate sleep can you make you look dull, tired and that may even lead you binge-eat your unhealthy comfort food."

Just move more

"Whether it is yoga or gym you should adopt the habit of doing a workout regime every day for at least 30 minutes. You can also opt for brisk walking or cardio exercises at home, even that much of effort can make a difference."
