15 Positive Quotes About Mental Health That Will 100 Percent Make You Feel Better

Okay, I think it’s safe to say that we’re all going through it right now. Amid a global pandemic that’s lasted 83,739 years nearly eight months and Mercury Retrograde being on some bullshit, the world is literally turning into a dumpster fire.

And, personally, all this chaos is literally wreaking havoc on my mental health. HBY?

The good thing is there are tons of services out there that can help calm your anxieties and alleviate those stresses that may be consuming you right now. But another totally easy, free thing you can do for your mental health is follow mental health content creators on social media.

When you take the time to purge your Instagram and unfollow everyone who makes you feel bad about your body, your choices, your lifestyle, and replace those accounts with new people who make you feel good, it literally feels amazing.

So I’ve taken it upon myself to curate a list of some of the best mental health quotes on le ‘gram currently because, yup, we deserve it. Right this way...

Language is so important and while we are all affected by Covid mentally, physically, and financially it's so easy to say that "I'm broke" because we might be low on funds but that doesn't mean that YOU are broke⠀ ⠀ Consider saying things like:⠀ "My value is not based on my income"⠀ "You aren’t doing anything wrong"⠀ "I’m choosing to spend my money elsewhere"⠀ "You’re worth everything"⠀ ⠀ I know that finances and mental health are so closely related and while saying affirmations won’t change our bank account in the moment it might help give us a different perspective⠀ ⠀ What are some of your favorite affirmations or practices around feeling better about money?

It’s my birthday today and I thought about what I would want to impart this year and what is a message that I have on my heart for all of you. I’m a believer in happy endings. Wonder (heh...of course). A believer in good. A believer in a good Creator. A believer in all of you. I mean it when I say I create these pieces to hopefully encourage all of you to keep going. To hold on even in the darkness. To never lose hope. To die a dreamer rather than someone who never dared to dream. To live in freedom and not in bondage to fear or despair. YOU are important. You have so much purpose and life in you. You are worthy. A master piece and a work in progress all at the same time. I cheer you on, dear friends. I really do. Your story is not over. Don’t let the lies win. Don’t let the discouraging and hurtful voices of past and present tear you down. Don’t ever for one second believe you aren’t meant to be alive. Breathe it in today. You’re alive ❤️and I’m so glad that you are.

Here's a periodic midweek reminder. Your productivity does not determine your worth. Even (especially) if capitalism tells you otherwise. Here's to slowly unlearning and untangling busyness as a basis for our self worth. We are more. We are more. We are more. #communitycare #queerart #feministart #capitalismsucks #sketchbookart #youareenough

this is a reminder from yours truly to take care of your heart and feed your mind as necessary. try to keep it nutritious and of value. we cannot let this constant cycle of bad news allow us to become trauma pornographers.⁣ ⁣ the psyche just wasn’t designed to store away so much trauma and maintain a healthy spiritual diet at the same time.⁣ ⁣ it’s important to stay informed, but it’s even more important to have self-awareness around your mental bandwidth and physical capacity in order to fully digest/understand an issue, form ideas on ways to address it, and create an actionable solution/response to it. this is what moves the dial forward.⁣ ⁣ so many people are experiencing burnout because there’s an overwhelming amount of trauma bonding and just that. remember: the revolution counts on your inner peace just as much as it does your anger and hurt. ⁣ ⁣ this world and the powers that be want to eat your sanity alive so that you have no defenses left and give up fighting for, living for, whatever cause you’re passionate about. don’t let it. we are in a collective awakening and society is relying on us, as individuals, to maintain a personal perseverance through preservation and care. ⁣ ⁣ xx, devri ⁣ ⁣ #spiritualawakening #blm #enlightenment #collectiveconsciousness #selfawareness #mentalhealth #traumabonding #lgbtq #mentalhealthadvocate #spooniewarrior #spooniesupport #invisibleillness #wellnesswednesday #nojusticenopeace #socialjustice #freedomfighter #therevolutionwillnotbetelevised

See also: your value is not in your appearance. Any messages suggesting otherwise are profiting off of you. I had a tough conversation in a session in which a client expressed a desire for being thin and beautiful above all else. As to suggest that her appearance was a measure of her worth. In a completely unplanned response, I started crying. I felt very sad to think about this human’s existence being boiled down to her earth suit. Or any of yours, for that matter. You are not on this planet for the sake of being visually appealing. Period. And you might be reading this and thinking to yourself, “Anna, but you are young, and live with thin privilege, and conventional beauty standards…easy for you to say.” Not false. While I live with extraordinary privilege, I am keenly aware of the fact that these fallible bodies of ours can change at a moments notice. AND The mark I want to leave on this planet has nothing to do with my body. Or the parts that are visible, anyway. So maybe part of why I was crying was thinking about myself. Thinking about what it would mean if I were to settle for young and thin and pretty and stop there. I would have no connections. I would have no calling. I would have no drive. I would have no ability to help anyone else. I would not love the work I do. That is not a life. Or at least not one that I’m interested in participating in. Aim higher, friends. We are given one body. That’s it. And, truly, taking care of yours has nothing to do with what it looks like. . . This is a throwback post. And relevant right now. Thin, young, pretty is not what is needed in this moment. Sturdy, wise, unwavering? Yes, please.

Friends, you do not need to be extra productive in the face of a global pandemic. ?? . What would it be like to make time to do nothing? What comes up for you? What do you notice in your body when you even consider the idea? ✨ Many of us have deeply ingrained beliefs that our worth is tied to our productivity. And that is the messaging we receive from a very young age in a capitalistic culture. Capitalism wants us to produce until we die and has no consideration for our pleasure, satisfaction, & Joy. ✨ Unlearning capitalism is hard work. It probably won’t come naturally and won’t be supported by the majority of our culture. ✨ So, practice giving yourself permission to do nothing. You don’t need to anything right now. You don’t need to earn rest. You don’t need to get up and grind. take a deep breath, slow down, and do nothing. . #coronavirus #covid_19 #covid #covıd19 #pandemic #mentalhealth #pleasureactivism #anxietyhelp #edrecovery #healthateverysize

sometimes we don’t have the ability to put words to feelings. they might be overwhelming or new, we might not have the ability to verbally communicate, we might have language barriers of different kinds. those feelings are still real. they do not need verbal recognition, or other’s to validate them, to exist

Something I am trying to be very mindful of, now that I am a parent, is the toxic messaging that comes with glorifying “never quitting.” As Asian children of immigrants, some of us may have received the messaging that we DO NOT QUIT. Quitting is perceived as weakness and that you were not “strong enough” to push through. While the virtue of hard work through adversity and delayed gratification are important lessons, it comes at great cost when the very thing you aren’t allowed to quit was something YOU DIDN’T CHOOSE in the first place. . . Perhaps another way to consider this idea is that we can teach ourselves and our children that it isn’t the AVOIDANCE of quitting that matters, but that we are living with intentionality and wisdom over our lives. Perhaps we try something and realize that it no longer serves us or we have outgrown people in our lives, then can we give ourselves permission to LISTEN to ourselves and change our course? Instead of pushing through and suffering more simply because we don’t want to quit. . . If we are lucky, we will get to remake ourselves so many times in our lifetime. But this is not the perspective we may have grown up with. As children of immigrants, our parents’ adaptive response to uncertainty of immigration was stability. For them due to so many barriers like financial instability, racism, language limitations, lack of connections, the idea of quitting perhaps felt impossible. A difference between making it or not for their families. So they had to grin and bear it to provide us with a better chance. . . They worked hard for us to have the privilege to walk away from things that hurt our mental health, compromise our physical health, threaten our relationships and sense of purpose in this world. So my challenge for you is - Are there things in your life that you are still holding on to simply because you don’t want to “quit?” If so, how can you think more intentionally about this and be curious as to why you continue to hold on to these aspects of your life? How do you reframe the idea that sometimes saying no, walking away, changing course may actually be good for you? ❤️
