Is There Something Pernia Qureshi Cannot Do?

List the most fashion-forward movies in recent times and Sonam's extensive closet in Aisha will inevitably make the cut. That was Pernia Qureshi's first film as a costume designer. It's safe to say that the lady dons many hats. She is a trained kuchipudi dancer, an actress (she recently played the role of a courtesan in Muzzafar Ali's Jaanisaar), has her own fashion label, and a book to her credit—Be Stylish with Pernia Qureshi.

But her most successful venture, undoubtedly, is Pernia's Pop-Up Shop, one of India's first fashion e-stores, featuring curated designerwear by the country's most stylish labels. Her inventory now boasts of fabulous pieces from over 200 designers, and the website, as any shopper will attest, is the go-to for literally everything—from Sabyasachi's signature lehengas to Outhouse's avant-garde baubles. Suffice to say, Pernia has got her game on.

So, what's keeping her busy at the moment? "There's an app-in-the-making and some major expansion plans," she reveals. "And, of course, a kuchipudi recital by the end of the year." Plus, there are rumours of another film in the future (remember: you read that in Cosmo first!)
