Real Men and Women Reveal their Hacks to Find Love Online That Actually Work

Online dating apps have emerged as one of the ways to make new connections and not feel lonely during the pandemic.

While a photograph taken from your best angle is the MVP of your dating profile, there are other potent hacks to make sure your dating profile stands out and helps you form lasting connections. According to a survey conducted by dating app QuackQuack, users responded to questions on what makes for a perfect dating profile that they would love to get chatting with.

Check out some approved ways to improve your dating profile:

A good bio is the new pick-up line

A whopping majority of people, about 72 per cent, voted for an eye-catching bio. ‘’Bios are supposed to be funny and attractive, not long and boring like autobiographies’’, said one of the QuackQuack users.

With a short span of attention, the youth does not look forward to reading long paragraphs about one person when they could just simply skip their profile. For people above 30, 56 per cent of the users prefer reading about the career, life achievements and goals of their matches as opposed to 44 per cent of them who prefer quirky bios.

However, most of the men respondents voted for shorter bios as compared to women, who preferred longer bios!

A photograph that tells a story

A photograph that shows you looking your best is an important part of your dating profile. For starters, steer clear of applying filters to your photographs. About 67 per cent of respondents said that they're attracted to photos that show how the person is in real life. To put it simply, pictures of hanging out with friends, pictures of engaging in your favourite activities, sports are some great photo ideas to try out.

A huge majority of male respondents (87 per cent) revealed that they prefer profiles with full-length photographs of users while 59 per cent of women showed a preference for pictures with pets.

A profile that stands out

This is where your creativity, sense of humour and personality gets to shine. A large number of dating app users said that they are likelier to connect with a bio that is written by the person himself rather than one filled with quotable quotes and Googled pick-up lines. Copied bios are a huge no for the majority of young QuackQuack users!

Meanwhile, men users of dating apps (59 per cent) preferred if the profile had no mention of the user's past relationships! For women, being modest is a turn-on and a self-obsessed person would get his profile skipped by 66 per cent of women. Good grammar is another factor that can get you making a good first impression.
