5 Shah Rukh Khan dialogues that are timeless and unforgettable

Shah Rukh Khan embraced the Bollywood fan in us long before he spread his arms wide to give the world a pose, we’ll cherish forever. Known to be one of the wittiest people in the industry, one simply cannot get enough of the infectious energy that he brings in front of the camera. You may be in love, or looking for a ray of hope, there will always be an SRK dialogue to fall back on.

As the Badshah of Bollywood turns a year older (you’ll always be young at heart for us, SRK), Cosmo India takes a look at some of his memorable dialogues that are pearls of wisdom.

When SRK encouraged us to never give up

Kabhi kabhi jeetne ke liye kuch haarna padta hai;aur haar ke jeetne waale ko Baazigar kehte hai

While we all know what was SRK’s character's plan the entire time in Baazigar, the dialogue taught us that sometimes, in life, you got to take a step back to move two steps forward. It’s okay if every step on the path of your goal is not a major success in itself, your eyes should be set on the final step. So don’t fret when things didn’t go your way, trust yourself and your plan, and you shall prevail. He’s called King Khan for a reason.

When SRK explained love in the most amazing way

Pyaar dosti hai. Agar woh meri sab se achchi dost nahin ban sakti, to main usse kabhi pyaar kar hi nahi sakta. Kyun ki dosti bina toh pyaar hota hi nahin. Simple, pyaar dosti hai.

In Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, when Miss Braganza asks the class, “What is love?”, Rahul's (SRK's) answer was that it is friendship. The answer was always right in front of us, but it took the King of Romance, with his dreamy eyes, to spell it out for us and make us believe in it. You know the second part of the word boyfriend or girlfriend? That’s what matters at the end of the day. Look at couples around you and you’ll realise truer words were never spoken.

When SRK inspired us to find our guiding force

Zindagi main kuch banna ho, kuch haasil karna ho, kuch jeetna ho, toh hamesha apne dil ki suno. Aur agar dil se bhi koi awaaz na aaye, too apni aankhein band karke apni maa aur baba ka naam lo? Phir dekhna tum har manzil paa sakoge. Har mushkil aasan ho jayegi, jeet tumhari hogi, sirf tumhari!

Nothing seems impossible when we have our goals right in front of us. But sometimes crossing the finishing line is easier said than done. So who do you turn to when your heart, the one guiding force you blindly believe, is unable to give you answers and much-needed direction? You close your eyes and think about your parents and get inspired. There, King Khan gave us the ultimate recipe for success as Rahul Raichand in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. And believe us, it works! (We’re speaking from experience).

When SRK gave us lessons on staying optimistic

...Hamari filmo ki tarah, hamari zindagi mein bhi, end mein sab theek hi ho jaata hai. ‘Happies endings’. Lekin agar end mein sab kuch theek na ho toh woh ‘the end’ nahi hai dosto... Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost

SRK is a ball of sunshine and can cheer us up when we’re feeling down. He makes us believe that there will be better days ahead. He infects us with his optimism as Om Kapoor in Bollywood’s iconic masala movie, Om Shanti Om. The way we see things now, if it’s not a happy ending, the best is yet to come.

When SRK told us how it's okay to wait for 'the one'

Hum itni kursiyan dekhte hai ek khareedne se pehle, phir apna life partner choose karne se pehle options dekhne mein kya problem?

SRK as a therapist? Sign us up. He might have been a character from a film, but King Khan as Dr. Jehangir "Jug" Khan told us why it's absolutely cool to take our time, be a little confused, before choosing the right partner. Giving the perfect anology by using the example of purchasing a chair, the superstar imparted a life lesson that made matters of the heart a lot simpler for the romantic hidden inside each one of us
