Pathaan teaser is out and it's safe to say we’re obsessed

Fans of Shah Rukh Khan can’t keep calm today. And no, it’s not because the actor turns 57—it’s because Pathaan’s teaser just released, and to be honest, it’s the best birthday treat we could have got. If you loved SRK in Don (who didn’t?) or are just a die-hard admirer of the icon, then Pathaan will keep you hooked—think plenty of old-school action, a good-looking villain, and some romance thrown in for good measure.

The teaser opens with a voiceover asking the question—“what do you know about Pathaan?” Then, it is revealed that he has been missing in action after he was caught and tortured during his last mission. On cue a bloodied SRK appears on the screen in an explosive action scene that gets rid of any niggling doubt one may have regarding his whereabouts. There are plenty of flying guns and flying kicks to go around, in addition to a very ripped Khan. What follows is a series of slick sequences across familiar destinations (we spied Paris and Dubai among other locales)—cars blowing up, fights on moving trucks, and more high-octane chases than we can keep track of. We get glimpses of John Abraham, who plays the baddie, and Deepika Padukone as Khan’s love interest. There’s also a brief dance scene with SRK and Deepika because it’s a Bollywood movie after all.

The actor also took to his Instagram to announce the teaser, showing his excitement at its release. The YRF film, directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra, with music by the composer duo Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, hits theatres on January 25, 2023. Apart from Hindi, the movie will also release in Tamil and Telugu. As Khan instructs at the end of the teaser, we are going to be fastening our seatbelts, because a storm is definitely coming.
