If you're looking for a place that does Italian to perfection, La Piazza at the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi should really be on your radar. Their Executive Chef Ivan Chieregatti from Ilan inroducxes some truly stunning flavours into a curated plethora of culinary deliciousness that already exists at La Piazza, courtesy Chef Alessandro Sandrolini, from Bologna.
We recommend beginning with a starter like a warm mushroom salad, spinach & ricotta croquett, and the crispy fried calamari. A soup like the Zuppetta di funghi, crostini, olio al tartufo (Mushroom soup, crouton, truffle essence) or the Minestrone di verdure (assorted vegetable, basil pesto).
Move onto to the Risotto ai funghi porcini ( Porcini mushroom risotto, parmesan shaving—that even converted a meat-lover like myself) or a roasted scallop risotto, and definitely give one of the sumptuous mains a chance—my favourites were the Filetto al forno, tortino di patate al tartufo, 1695 asparagi e salsa al pepe verde (Roasted tenderloin, truffle potato cake, asparagus, green peppercorn sauce) or the Costolette di agnello alla griglia, patate, funghi e bacon, salsa al rosmarino (Grilled lamb chop, sautéed potato, mushroom, bacon, rosemary sauce).
Ending with their signature dessert—Tiramisu—isn't just mandatory, it would near criminal not to. A recipe developed and perfected over the years, they're fairly famous for it—and for good reason.
