And there are pictures to prove it!

Spice Jet Did the Most Horrible Thing During the Chennai Rains

While this month has been a terrifying one with life coming to a dangerous standstill for those affected by the Chennai floods, one was only hoping that the bad news stopped at that.

But no. When does that ever happen?

A Facebook post by Anupam Anand is going viral that exposes (in grave detail) the inhuman behaviour shown by private airlines, Spice Jet, during the Chennai floods. During what is being described as a disaster of mammoth proprotions, all means of public transport ceased to operate. Not Spice Jet though. And not for any noble cause. The airline decided to cash in the drowning sorrows of many.

Here's the post that says it all:

So he paid 22,000 rupees for a ticket, was told that the prices were exorbitant because the flight was full and people were waiting, only to be seated in a nearly empty flight. Really Spice Jet? How rich!

It was only two months ago that another private carrier, IndiGo Airlines faced major heat for stopping a female passenger from boarding a flight from Mumbai to New Delhi because they objected to what she was wearing.

Two months later, and we're putting money over the lives of thousands.

Anupam hopes that his post reached the Prime Minister's office and action is taken immediately. So do we. And maybe it's time these private carriers got a lesson in 'humanity'.

PS: I read the story and decided to never fly Spice Jet again. How many people would it take to really stick it to them? Just wondering...
