Consider This Your Official Warning to Not Sleep With Your Phone in Your Bed

It's common knowledge that technology is consuming our lives and brains, etc., etc., but the NYPD 33rd Precinct would like you to know if you sleep with your phone under your pillow, it may also consume you with fire.

The department tweeted out the above warning after presumably responding to one too many instances of people calling for help after a phone explosion. The tweet came with the tip to not "put your cellphone under a pillow when sleeping or when charging your device." Doing so causes the already hot batteries to heat further and could very well end with the phone melting, exploding, or catching on fire.

This doesn't just apply to phones under pillows. Phones anywhere on your bed can potentially cause you to burn yourself. So don't keep a phone in your bed. It will light on fire and you will die. Oh wait, no, that's just about sex and pregnancy. But still, just don't do it, you guys.
