This New App Has Everyone Freaking Out About Monday

Oh, great! Another reason to look forward to Monday!

TNW reports that Peeple, the controversial new "Yelp for humans" app, is set to launch tomorrow morning. Originally, the app was going to allow users to rate actual people — you know, with hearts and souls — in the same way one might rate a shitty French restaurant they got food poisoning at. Even worse, you were able to create a profile for someone else and then rate them; so, someone could make a profile for you, leave a crap review, and you might not even know it. Yikes.

Luckily, Peeple heard the complaints from, well, people, and made some changes before tomorrow's launch. Now, only people who sign up for the app can be reviewed and users can choose what is displayed on their profiles — meaning, users have the ability to hide shit reviews of themselves. Oh, and instead of calling them "ratings," it's the gentler "recommendations."

Unfortunately, it's still not all puppy dog kisses and kitten snuggles over at Peeple. Apparently they will soon launch a premium feature next month called The Truth License. This upgrade will allow the user to see whatever what says about another person — whether the other person wants them to or not. I guess the old saying "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all," is getting a 21st Century makeover to "if you can't say something nice, say it on Peeple, you monster."
