Hero Mom Donated a Record Amount of Breastmilk After Having Her Baby Early

Since delivering her baby Cash premature by emergency C-section this January, an absolute hero mom from San Antonio, Texas, has donated a record-breaking 15 gallons (GALLONS) of breastmilk to the Children's Hospital of San Antonio, in what the hospital says is the biggest donation from one mother they've ever received.

According to KSAT, Micah Duncan's baby, Cash, was born so early that he couldn't be held or touched, much less latch on to breastfeed. While Micah waited for her baby to be strong enough to be discharged from the hospital, she started pumping every two or so hours for three months, and stored a lot of breast milk in the freezer. By the time  Cash was ready to go home, she counted up her bottles of breast milk and donated them all to the Texas Breast Milk Bank in Austin. The final count was 15 full gallons of breast milk.

"Good thing I produced it, and now we can help other babies whose moms can't produce the milk," Micah told KSAT

And in another little bonus miracle, Cash eventually became strong enough to breastfeed, despite doctor's warnings that he'd have to be bottle-fed, and is now a fully breastfed baby. "I didn't think it would happen," Micah said about Cash latching on. "I didn't think it would ever happen. And then, little by little, it did happen."
